Listen, I know quality Prosecco isn’t terribly expensive, especially when compared to champagne, but it also ain’t cheap.
After a hard day at work and a long commute, I sometimes find that nothing will quite slake my thirst like a glass (who am I kidding, a bottle!) of Prosecco. There are two problems with this, though: either I’m on a bit of a budget (lookin’ at you, student loans!) or I just don’t feel like making that extra trip to the store. The other day I found myself in this exact predicament while staring blankly into my fridge and then it hit me…
…ginger beer and vodka.
Without a moment to spare, I popped open a ginger beer, raced to the pantry for the vodka, and then tilted my head back like I was on spring break in Cancun. Hola, mi amor…Te eché de menos…-Me
Ok, so maybe it didn’t go quite like that, but it sure felt like it. While the flavor is obviously more ginger-forward than Prosecco, this cocktail still has the effervescence of Prosecco that we all know and love! Plus, it’s much easier on your wallet than a bottle of quality Prosecco.
**Also, I know that this is pretty much a Moscow Mule without the lime, but hey, you wanna drink, don’t you?!**Print
While this recipe is obviously more ginger-forward than regular Prosecco, it still has that familiar effervescence that we all know and love!
- 4 ounces Reed’s Ginger Beer
- 2 ounces Tito’s Vodka
- Combine the two ingredients together in a mason jar, swirl gently, and pour into a champagne flute or coupe glass.
- Feel fancy AF and satisfied knowing that your wallet isn’t mad at you…for now.
