Peppermint Simple Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup Demerara sugar
  • 1 tsp. organic peppermint extract

Instructions

  1. Add the water and Demerara sugar to a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Stir until the sugar dissolves (~5 minutes).
  3. Bring to a boil and then add the peppermint extract. 
  4. Lower the heat and simmer covered for 20 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes.
  6. Pour your syrup into a clean, airtight mason jar or other storage container. Store in the fridge for up to a month.
